A semi-staged recital with Martin Roth (baritone) and Stefan Kägi (piano) Based on Ibert’s Don Quichotte Lieder, pieces by Wolf (An den Schlaf, Prometheus), Liszt (Petrarca Lieder), Verdi (excerpts from MacBeth), Purcell (Arie des Cold genius) and Schubert (Der Einsame, Nacht und Träume) tell the story of the suffering of a young man who fights a tragic battle between denial and recognition of reality. In the process, he comes into contact with the Lacanian Real, which shakes his identity to its foundations and leaves him as a fragmented subject. A eerie song recital that attempts to expose the mechanisms of human identity and confronts us with its fragility.
